		<description>You're definitelyright in that a beta test isn't going to "fix" a broken game, but it could serve to put it in its grave earlier. I think that's a good thing. 

Increasing information flow between prospective players and current ones is usually good, and this is definitely one method to facilitate that.

And yes, I wish I'd get accepted into more betas, too. :D</description>

		<description>I disagree. A beta test can be a great marketing tool, but a beta test isn't going to make your game look very good if it's too buggy or unbalanced.
So yeah, they use the game "g33ks" for closed betas, to work out all the bugs, and then open it up for the masses to market it. I don't think they're doing anything wrong, though I do wish I'd get accepted into more betas. :P</description>
