So far, I think the strongest reason for additional penalties that you’ve listed so far is the last… the idiot filter. But even that reason seems weak to me, since it seems social pressure from other players is the most likely deterrent. I doubt that most players who get their fellow groupmates killed do it intentionally, anyway.
