If you want a game with lots of storyline you should check out Final Fantasy XI. Called missions they are very long and well thought out, but also hard unless you have a great group of friends to do them with.

I’ve always wanted to try FFXI, but have always gotten cold feet. Whenever I have the game in my hand to buy, it seems like there is something else that comes up.

I had an exchange student from Japan who swore by the game, and it’s made me that much more interested.

Is there still a lot of activity in the newbie zones in that game, or is everyone already established? If I were to start, would I be able to find a group, or would I be toughin’ it out solo in content that’s not meant for solo?

Oriental games just don’t grab me anymore. I grew up on the Nintendo consoles, but I’ve enjoyed oriental styles less and less as time goes by. My best guess why is that I lean more toward RP immersion than arcade-style action as I grow older. The Japanese and Koreans tend to have different aesthetic values in stories and animation than Western designers.
